North Norfolk District Council’s community team is helping a Stalham neighbourhood come together to discover many services they can call upon to help them with their housing, health, safety, benefits and environment.
Council officers will be running a stall alongside stands run by the police and Safer Neighbourhood Team, Peddars Way Housing, the Stalham and Happing Partnership and HEART Foyers (an East Anglian housing and training organisation for young people that’s part of the Flagship Housing Group), at the event on Saturday, 3 May, from 10am to 2pm.
The event is for residents of Allen Meale Way in Stalham only. It will be held on the green in the middle of the close. It was organised after a survey of the neighbourhood showed the need for an activity that would boost community spirit and overcome the isolation some residents felt. The community was consulted about what kind of event it would like, and when.
North Norfolk District Council hopes the event will be the first step towards establishing a residents’ association for Allen Meale Way.
