NNDC charity events raise hundreds for Parkinson’s Disease

North Norfolk District Council staff and their families have raised more than £700 for the Parkinson’s Disease Society with a quiz night and dress-down day.

NNDC officers Micky Lynne and Chris Young organised the annual quiz evening at Cromer Football Club on 15 February, in which 80 people took part (in 18 teams of four, plus organisers and guests).

Morrisons supermarket in Cromer donated £65 for food (which was then prepared in their own time by the Council’s canteen staff), the Football Club gave the use of the venue for free, public sector union UNISON contributed £50, and regular charity fundraiser Deb Struthers, from NNDC’s planning enforcement team, added £32 to the pot by selling a home-baked cake.

A dress-down day at NNDC offices on 29 February raised a further £95, bringing the total to £719.55.

The Parkinson’s Disease Society funds research into Parkinson’s, and supports people living with the disease and their carers. See www.parkinsons.org.uk
